Port Angeles – Repairs and reroutes are happening along the Olympic Discovery Trail in Port Angeles.
Beginning April 29 and going through May 16, the City of Port Angeles has scheduled maintenance crews to repair 12 damaged sections of trail surface and shoreline armoring along the ODT between Lees Creek and Morse Creek.
That segment of trail will be closed for approximately three weeks while repairs are underway. Alternative routes heading eastbound and westbound will are available, primarily along Highway 101.
The trail damage is the result of a winter storm in January of last year. The damage was submitted to and accepted by FEMA for disaster relief funding. All grant-eligible project expenses are expected to be reimbursed through that agency.
