Sequim – Officials from Fire District 3 in the Sequim area announced Wednesday they received an $18,000 donation from community member Molly Schwarz.
The donation will be split between the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Fire District 3 Training Division.
Chief Justin Grider said the funds will enhance the community’s emergency preparedness and support training in advanced firefighting and emergency medical services.
Schwarz was the honored guest at Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting, where she was formally recognized and thanked for her generosity by the District’s Commissioners, Chiefs, and others.
