PORT ANGELES — The 24th Legislative District (Clallam, Jefferson and Grays Harbor counties) is set to receive more than $329 million in state funding over the next two years, with several major projects planned in Port Angeles as part of the newly approved $7.6 billion capital budget.
Among the Port Angeles-area projects, $2 million is allocated to help expand the city’s multifamily housing pipeline. Another $2 million will support continued development of the Port Angeles Waterfront Center, including Field Hall. The future Marine Discovery Center is set to receive $1 million to support its next phase of planning and construction.
Childcare and early learning facilities also see funding in the city. Accessibility improvements at the Port Angeles Library will be funded with $313,000 in state support.
In addition, the state is committing $2 million toward the construction of a new Emergency Operations Center to improve regional disaster and emergency response capabilities.
