Clallam County to Honor Fallen Service Members with Memorial Day Ceremonies in Port Angeles, Sequim

PORT ANGELES — Clallam County residents will gather on Monday, May 26, to honor fallen service members with Memorial Day ceremonies scheduled in Port Angeles and Sequim.

In Port Angeles, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6787 will host the city’s official Memorial Day observance at 9 a.m. at the Veterans Circle in Mt. Angeles Memorial Park, located at 45 Monroe Road. The ceremony will include a flag line by American Legion Riders Post 29, a three-volley rifle salute by the Mt. Olympus Detachment of the Marine Corps League #897, and Echo Taps performed by American Legion Riders.

Additional highlights include a bagpipe performance of “Amazing Grace” and patriotic songs by Juan de Fuca Harmony, including “The National Anthem,” “Shenandoah,” and “God Bless America.” Local nonprofit and veteran organizations will take part in a wreath-laying ceremony.

In Sequim, ceremonies will begin at 11 a.m. at Sequim View Cemetery, 1505 Sequim-Dungeness Way. Additional observances are set for noon at the Jamestown S’Klallam Cemetery, 325 Jake Hall Road, and at 12:45 p.m. at Dungeness Cemetery, 2153 Lotzgesell Road.

All events are free and open to the public.
