Selah WA — The Port Angeles Roughriders baseball team came up one win short of a state semifinal appearance, falling 9-5 to Selah in the quarterfinals after a strong opening-round win over Tumwater.
Port Angeles, seeded 11th, started the day with a 6-4 extra-inning victory against 6th-seeded Tumwater to advance. The win set up a quarterfinal matchup with 3rd-seeded Selah.
Despite putting up five runs, Port Angeles was outpaced by Selah. The loss ends a promising postseason run for the Roughriders, who fell just short of reaching the state’s final four.
