SEQUIM – The City of Sequim will begin construction of a new, much-needed parking lot on West Spruce Street starting Monday, June 2.
The project, located just across the alley from the Civic Center downtown, sits on 3 parcels that, according to Finance Director Sue Hagener, the city purchased from a single owner in 2022 for the price of $457,500.
The project will include installation of stormwater infrastructure, new curbs, asphalt paving for parking, sidewalks, electric vehicle charging stations, lighting, landscaping, and related improvements. The effort is part of Sequim’s ongoing infrastructure enhancements aimed at improving downtown accessibility and public amenities.
During construction, residents and visitors should anticipate delays, temporary closures, and detours in the area.
The project is expected to take 10-12 weeks to complete.
