PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison following his guilty plea to firearm charges stemming from a March 2025 arrest.

Justin W. Defrang, 44, pled guilty on June 25 in Clallam County Superior Court to two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the First Degree. He was sentenced to 120 months in prison.

Defrang was arrested on March 12 by the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force (PNVOTF), a U.S. Marshals-led team. He was wanted for violating Department of Corrections supervision related to a previous robbery conviction.

Officers located Defrang at a residence on South Francis Street in Port Angeles. After attempting to leave and re-entering the home, he was taken into custody. A DOC-authorized search recovered approximately 1,000 grams of suspected narcotics, including methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, and various pills, along with three firearms.

As a convicted felon, Defrang is prohibited from possessing firearms. Two of the recovered guns were confirmed stolen. The third remains under investigation.

The Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET) took over the case and filed additional charges, including Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
