SEQUIM — The Sequim School District Board of Directors has announced a vacancy for Director District Position 1, following the departure of Larry Jeffryes, who served on the board since 2019.
In a social media response, Jeffryes wrote: “After considerable thought and consideration, I believe the time is right—for both me, personally, and the district that I step down from my position as School Board Director. Serving our schools, students, educators, and community has been very meaningful and rewarding. As for me, after 57 years in education, including 6 years on the board, I’m looking forward to what may come next”.
Candidate interviews will be held during the regular board meeting on Monday, September 15 at 5:30 p.m., with an appointment expected that same evening. The new board member will be sworn in on October 6.
