Port Angeles Expands Water Distribution Options Amid No-Drink Advisory

PORT ANGELES — Long lines formed at Civic Field and Shane Park on Sunday as the City of Port Angeles continued distributing bottled water to residents impacted by a “Do Not Drink” advisory following a recent fuel spill in Indian Creek.

In response to growing demand and long wait times, the City announced a new partnership with Clallam County to provide additional potable water sources for affected residents. Beginning Sunday, impacted City water customers can bring clean, food-grade containers—such as water jugs or bottles—to two additional fill-up locations:

  • Salt Creek Recreation Area: 3506 Camp Hayden Road, Port Angeles
  • Dungeness Recreation Area: 554 Voice of America West Road, Sequim

The emergency water advisory was issued early Sunday after concerns about possible fuel contamination in the City’s drinking water system. Water testing remains underway, with some samples requiring out-of-state lab analysis, causing delays in confirming water safety.

Officials say the additional fill stations aim to ease strain on citywide distribution efforts and provide more convenient options for residents during the ongoing water emergency.
