PORT ANGELES — City crews have launched the Jones Street Reservoir Valve Replacement Project, a key water infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving pressure reliability across the system.
Work began July 11 and is expected to wrap up by the first week of August. As part of the replacement process, residents may experience lower-than-normal water pressure from Monday, July 28, through Friday, August 1.
City officials are advising residents and businesses to prepare for temporary changes, including the potential for low-pressure alerts on fire sprinkler systems. Officials also recommend reviewing alarm settings in advance.
During the work window, residents are urged to conserve water—limiting use to essential tasks like drinking, cooking, and hygiene, while postponing non-essential uses like watering lawns or washing vehicles.
The city will issue an update once the project is complete and water use restrictions are lifted.
