PORT ANGELES – Olympic Medical Center (OMC) today confirmed that Darryl Wolfe, its Chief Executive Officer, has tendered his resignation to the Board of Commissioners, citing personal reasons.
Wolfe has served in leadership roles at OMC for nearly two decades. He began his career with the organization in 2006 as a financial analyst, later becoming Treasurer, Director of Administration, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and—since June 2020—CEO. His tenure with the institution spans just over 19 years.
In a prepared statement, OMC Board President Ann Henninger said: “Darryl has shown a steadfast dedication to patients, generous service to our community, and strong support for our providers and employees. We deeply appreciate his commitment to OMC over the past 19 years, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
In a message to OMC staff earlier today, Wolfe remarked: “This is a difficult decision, but for personal reasons it is a necessary one. I cannot overstate the gratitude I feel for the experiences I have had … for the past 19 years here at Olympic Medical Center.”
Under Wolfe’s leadership, OMC embarked on an exploration of a strategic partnership with potential external health-system partners, aiming to ensure long-term financial sustainability and maintain local access to high‐quality care. His administration engaged Juniper Advisory to guide the process, which attracted discussions with more than 20 healthcare organizations as of early 2025.
The Board of Commissioners plans to appoint an interim CEO as soon as possible. Discussion around the appointment process and a timeline for selecting a permanent successor is scheduled for the board’s August 6 public meeting.
