Port Townsend Man Pleads Not Guilty to Murder in Sequim Plaza Assault Death

PORT ANGELES — A 36-year-old Port Townsend man has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the death of a Sequim man following an alleged assault in May.

Aaron C. Fisher entered the plea Friday in Clallam County Superior Court. His trial is set for Sept. 22, with a status hearing scheduled for Sept. 2.

Fisher is accused of punching 70-year-old Richard G. Madeo in the face during a confrontation on May 6 in a Sequim shopping plaza. Modeo later died at a Seattle hospital.

Fisher was arrested July 23 in SeaTac and is being held at the Clallam County Jail on $500,000 bail.+
