SEQUIM — A minor earthquake rattled the Sequim area Sunday afternoon, but few residents seemed to notice.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported the 2.6 magnitude quake struck near River Road at about 12:35 p.m. The tremor originated at a depth of roughly 40.5 kilometers.
So far, just one person has reported feeling the shaking to USGS. No damage or injuries have been reported.
Small quakes of this size are common in the region, which sits within the seismically active Cascadia Subduction Zone.
