Robbery Suspect Arrested in Diamond Point

BLYN – A Sequim man wanted for robbery and burglary was taken into custody Friday morning after a multi-agency operation in the Diamond Point community.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded July 23 to a reported disturbance at the Chevron station in Carlsborg, where a man was chased into the store by another man carrying what appeared to be a holstered firearm. Deputies later identified the suspect as 61-year-old Stephen Massey of Sequim and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary.

Because of safety concerns, the Olympic Peninsula Crisis Response Team — made up of law enforcement from Clallam and Jefferson counties, Port Angeles police, and Clallam County Fire District 3 — executed a search warrant at Massey’s home early Friday with the aid of two armored vehicles.

Massey surrendered without incident after officers called to him over a loudspeaker. He was booked into the Clallam County Jail on the outstanding charges.
