NORTH BEND — A Port Angeles man was killed Wednesday after his log truck collided with a semitruck on Interstate 90 near North Bend, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened just before 12:45 p.m. near Exit 32, when a westbound semitruck blew a tire and veered into another lane, striking the log truck. The impact caused the log truck to roll into a nearby field.
The log truck driver, 38-year-old Dwane Sukert of Port Angeles, who worked for Ellis Trucking, was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he later died. The other driver, a 57-year-old man from Longview, was taken to Overlake Medical Center with serious injuries.
The crash shut down two lanes of westbound I-90 for about four hours.
