Sequim – A 16-year-old Sequim High School student was in custody Thursday after allegedly threatening to “shoot up” Sequim High School.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office says that at around 2:15am Thursday, they were notified by the FBI of a potential threat involving Sequim High School. The FBI had been contacted by TikTok, who reported a post on their social media platform stating, “I am going to shoot up Sequim High School tomorrow.”

The FBI provided information that identified a Sequim home as the source of the post. Sergeant Keegan immediately notified the Sequim Police School Resource Officer, and a suspect was quickly identified as a 16-year-old student at Sequim High School.

At about 4:00am, Sergeant Keegan and Deputy Glass contacted the boy at his home. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Clallam County Juvenile Services.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time due to the suspect’s age.
