PORT ANGELES — A 24-year-old Forks woman was sentenced earlier this month to just over a year in prison after pleading guilty to attempting to elude police, driving under the influence, and three counts of hit-and-run involving occupied vehicles.
Shayla S. Davis was arrested June 19 after a series of hit-and-run crashes in Port Angeles. Police say the incidents began around 5 p.m. that day near First and Penn streets, followed by a second collision near Front and Lincoln. An Elwha Police officer later spotted the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, prompting a pursuit through the city.
During the chase, Davis struck a third vehicle near 11th and C streets before her car was disabled. She was arrested at the scene, processed for DUI, and booked into jail. Investigators also found drugs in the vehicle, later confirmed to contain fentanyl.
