LOCAL SPORTS: Sequim Soccer Dominates Olympic in 6-1 Rout

SEQUIM — In high school soccer, the Sequim Wolves rolled past Olympic with a 6-1 victory. Sasha Yada opened the scoring in the 8th minute on an assist from Brooklyn Schmidt. Just two minutes later, Adalie Eastburn scored off a rebound to make it 2-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Ruby Horgan extended the lead with a goal in the 6th minute, assisted by Olive Bridge. Eastburn struck again in the 15th minute, her second goal of the night, set up by Lily Sparks. Raimey Brewer added a tally in the 28th minute on an assist from Kiley Winter, and Hailey Wagoner capped the scoring with another Winter assist. The Wolves improved their league record to 2-2 and will travel to Port Angeles Thursday night.

Former Sequim kicker Jack Henniger is now placekicking for the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Henniger has converted 11 of his 12 extra points and both of his field-goal attempts this season. The Marauders are 2-2 and host Northern State University Saturday at 2:00.

The Peninsula College athletic department has released its basketball schedules for the 2025-26 season. The Pirate women will open November 14th in Pasco against Columbia Basin, followed by Walla Walla on the 15th. The Pirate men debut November 21st at the Crossover Tournament, with three games in three days against Clark, Centralia, and Green River.

Pirates head basketball coach A.J. Demond will lead his team into the season opener November 21st at the Green River Crossover Tournament.

Closer to home, there’s an Olympic League cross-country meet today in Port Angeles with a 5:00 start. The Roughrider swim team hosts Bremerton at 3:00, while Sequim takes on Klahowya at 3:30. In tennis, Port Angeles faces Bremerton at 3:00, and Sequim hosts North Kitsap at 3:30.
