Discovery Bay – There are two traffic interruptions that are coming up next week you might need to know about.
Nighttime travelers who use Highway 101 between Sequim and Gardiner should plan for all-night lane closures for a little over a month beginning Monday night.
Contractor crews working for WSDOT will conduct a variety of construction activities during that time. Work will occur on sections of the highway between milepost 267 and milepost 278 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sept. 29 through Nov. 6, Monday through Thursday nights:
101 will reduce to one lane approaching the work zone, and flaggers will alternate traffic one direction at a time with a reduced speed limit through the work zone.
Crews will put the finishing touches on four new bridges built earlier this year. Work includes grinding rumble strips, installing guardrail and applying permanent striping.
And in Port Angeles, the 2025 Neighborhood Sewer Rehabilitation Project begins on Monday, September 29. The project will rehabilitate over 3,000 linear feet of sewer main along Francis Street.
Full-block closures will take place, one block at a time, on Francis between 6th Street and Caroline Street.
This project is expected to be complete by the end of October.
