PORT ANGELES — The Sequim Wolves and Port Angeles Roughriders both face tough football opponents this Friday night.
The Roughriders, now 2-2 after their 27-14 Homecoming win over Sequim, turn around to host the 2-2 North Kitsap Vikings. North Kitsap comes in off a dominant 55-21 win over North Mason, a game they led 38-7 at halftime. The Vikings also own a 23-15 win over W.F. West and pushed league favorite Olympic before falling 27-14. The Trojans sealed that game late in the fourth quarter thanks to four interceptions.
North Kitsap is known for its speed, especially in the secondary, and is averaging 24 points per game while allowing 29. The Roughriders are averaging 19 points and giving up 29.

Port Angeles senior running back Dylan Mann, interviewed on the KONP postgame show, will need another big performance against North Kitsap Friday night.
Sequim, meanwhile, may have received a reality check in last week’s loss. The Wolves’ first three opponents had a combined 1-11 record, while Port Angeles had faced teams with a 6-6 mark. This week Sequim faces Bremerton, a team better than its 1-3 record suggests.
The Knights rolled Bainbridge 41-14 and nearly upset Class 3A state power Kelso before falling 36-29. Bremerton is led by senior running back and linebacker Marquis Allen, who has rushed for 411 yards on just 30 carries—an average of 13 yards per attempt—with three touchdowns. On defense, Allen also leads the team in tackles.
Quarterback Buda Sorenson, a junior, has thrown for 465 yards, averaging 16 yards per completion with two touchdowns. Wide receiver Ty Allen, a 6’3” senior, has six catches for 238 yards and two scores.
