PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula Trails Coalition has hired its first executive director.

Ann Livingston, who starts in November, comes from Florida with more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and management. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law and has worked in land-use policy, environmental sustainability, and coalition building.

Her career has taken her to leadership and policy roles in North Carolina, Colorado, and Washington state, including a stakeholder project on Guemes Island.

Since its founding 37 years ago, the Peninsula Trails Coalition has been an all-volunteer organization, relying on community members to develop and maintain the Olympic Discovery Trail. The group says Livingston’s hire marks a new chapter in its work to expand and sustain the trail network.

Community meet-and-greet opportunities are expected once Livingston arrives on the Peninsula.
