
PORT ANGELES — In high school tennis action, Port Angeles earned another impressive win over North Kitsap, 5–2.
In singles play, Grant Butterworth won 6-0, 6-1; Owen Leitz rallied to win 5-7, 6-1, 6-3; and Liam Miller prevailed 6-2, 6-4.
In doubles, Jensen Wolfe and Abe Brenkman lost 4-6, 4-6, while Brett Manson and Gagan Seera fell 6-7, 6-8, 6-3, 9-11 in a marathon match.
Jacob Oberly and Khyler Fowler won 6-4, 7-5, and Teig Carlson and Maverick Williams closed out the day with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 victory.
The Roughriders will host Sequim today at 3:30.
In NWAC soccer, the Peninsula men blanked Skagit Valley 2-0, with goals from Jeremy Obah and Max Pieper.
The Pirate women also shut out the Cardinals 1-0 on a winning goal from Alyssa Carney.
Both Peninsula teams travel to Edmonds on Saturday.
In swimming, Port Angeles outswam Kingston 129–44, winning all 12 events.
Mia Francis captured the 200 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke, Anaya Tejeda won the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly, and Lizzy Shaw took both the 50 and 100 Freestyle.
Lynzee Reid won Diving and the 100 Backstroke, while Amayah Nelson took the 500 Freestyle.
The 200 Freestyle relay team of Chloe Kay Sanders, Mia Francis, Ellie Karjalainen, and Lilly Mahanney also finished first, as did the other two relay squads.

In soccer tonight, Port Angeles will try to break its curse against Bainbridge, while Sequim visits North Mason. Both matches start at 7:00.

Sequim soccer captains Hailey Wagoner, Raimey Brewer, and Kylie Winter lead the Wolves into North Mason tonight.
And in volleyball, Sequim is at North Mason and Port Angeles travels to Bainbridge — both matches begin at 6:30.

Sequim C-squad running back Bentley Wopperer, featured on the KONP Newsradio VIP Show, will lead the Wolfpups into Forks on Saturday. The C-squad kicks off at noon, with varsity action at 2 p.m.
