PORT ANGELES — The 7-3 Port Angeles girls soccer team earned a comfortable 3-0 win over Olympic last night, as Roughriders Head Coach Dan Horton was able to get every player on the roster some time on the field — valuable varsity minutes for several younger players.

Port Angeles dominated the match, outshooting the Trojans 23-1.
In the 28th minute, Emma Desjardins scored her 15th goal of the season off a perfect pass from Stella Fradkin. At the 55-minute mark, Desjardins returned the favor, assisting Fradkin’s second goal of the year to make it 2-0 at halftime.
In the 70th minute, Mariah Traband capped the scoring, finishing a pass from Lilly Anne Lancaster — a cousin of Desjardins — for the final 3-0 margin.

The Roughriders travel to North Kitsap tomorrow night. A win would keep Port Angeles in the hunt for second place in the league standings.

In the JV match, Cela Waknitz recorded a hat trick as Port Angeles won 3-1.

The Sequim Wolves fell to unbeaten Bainbridge, 7-1. Sequim’s lone goal came when Harper Moore sent a great pass to Kylie Winter, who knocked it in. The 4-6 Wolves travel to Olympic tomorrow night.

In tennis, Port Angeles edged Bremerton 4-3.
Singles results:

  • Sky Gelder lost 0-6, 0-6
