PORT ANGELES — The City of Port Angeles will hold three public hearings Wednesday night on long-range plans that will guide community growth through 2045.
The hearings begin at 6 p.m. at City Hall and online via WebEx.
The Planning Commission will take public comment on three items: the Comprehensive Plan Update, a citywide rezone map, and the 2025 Housing Action Plan.
The Comprehensive Plan covers areas including land use, housing, economic development, parks, transportation, and utilities. The rezone proposal affects more than 1,000 properties and is designed to allow enough housing for about 3,150 additional residents over the next 20 years.
The Housing Action Plan includes strategies to expand affordable housing, address homelessness, reduce blight, and encourage community land trusts.
After the hearings, the Planning Commission will forward its recommendations to the City Council, which is expected to consider adoption in December.
