SEQUIM — The Olympic League Cross Country Meet takes place today at Dungeness Golf Course, with races starting at 5:00.

The Port Angeles boys cross country team — including Easton Dempsey, Andre Campbell, Henry Wendel, and Jay Lieberman — will be among the favorites at today’s Olympic League Championships.

In girls soccer action, 9-3 Port Angeles will host 4-8 Bremerton at 7:15.
Sequim, now 5-7, hosts ninth-ranked 10-2 North Kitsap at 7:00.

In volleyball, Port Angeles, 4-7 and in fifth place, hosts 0-11 Bremerton.
Meanwhile, 10-1 North Kitsap travels to third-place 9-3 Sequim. Both matches begin at 6:30.

Looking ahead to football tomorrow night — 2-5 Bremerton travels to 2-5 Port Angeles.
The Knights are 2-2 in league play and coming off a 49-28 loss to North Mason.
They’re averaging 24 points per game and giving up 29.

The Roughriders, 1-3 in league play, showed their big-play potential against Squalicum — scoring four touchdowns of more than 49 yards. But overall, Port Angeles is averaging just 18 points per game while allowing 30.

And in a game you’ll hear right here on KONP Newsradio, the 3-4 Sequim Wolves travel to 1-6 Bainbridge.
Sequim is on a four-game skid after winning its first three non-league contests.
Bainbridge has been more competitive lately — beating Port Angeles in overtime and losing to North Kitsap last Friday on a last-second field goal, 24-21.
The Spartans are averaging 12 points per game while giving up 35; the Wolves are averaging 18 and allowing 27.

Our KONP pregame show kicks off at 6:00, featuring Wolves senior tight end Andrew Keeler and junior center Gavin Albers, followed by The Ian Henley Show.
At halftime, the Wolves VIP Show spotlights Sequim’s own Pearle Peterson, the talented singer and performer now studying at the University of Illinois. She’ll share the latest on her music career — and make her best case for why her Fighting Illini will knock off the Washington Huskies Saturday at Husky Stadium.

Sequim’s Pearle Peterson will be featured on Friday night’s VIP Halftime Show during the Sequim at Bainbridge football broadcast

With Roughrider head soccer coach Dan Horton joining the KONP Newsradio Postgame Show, seniors Pyper Alton and Allison Fricker share a light moment — Alton giving her coach a thumbs-up as Fricker smiles at his on-air debut.
