BAINBRIDGE — It was another tough night for local high school football teams. Sequim fell on the road to Bainbridge, 42–32, while Port Angeles was shut out at home by Bremerton, 21–0.

The Wolves had no trouble putting points on the board, but Bainbridge — averaging just 12 points per game coming in — found unexpected offensive firepower behind quarterback Rowen Meek. Meek carried 27 times for 160 yards and three touchdowns, using a mix of shotgun sweeps, draws, and read options to carve up the Sequim defense. The Spartans are a young team, with several sophomores in starting roles.

Sequim will close out the season at home Thursday night against North Mason. The Bulldogs bring the league’s top-scoring offense, averaging 38 points per game. Last Friday, North Mason led league champion Olympic 15–0 at halftime, but the Trojans stormed back to win 18–15 after a big second half. The Sequim game will be broadcast here on KONP Newsradio.

Sequim seniors Zeke Schmadeke and Liam Wiker will suit up for their final home game Thursday night when the Wolves host North Mason.

Port Angeles faces a tough challenge Thursday night on the road at Olympic.

Meanwhile, the 2025–26 KONP Newsradio basketball schedule has been announced for November through December. The season tips off November 14th with a major NWAC women’s matchup between Peninsula College and Columbia Basin in Pasco. Columbia Basin is led by former Neah Bay Red Devils Amber Swan and Ezrah Ray. The Lady Pirates will have eight games broadcast through the end of December.

The Peninsula men’s team opens its season November 21st through 23rd at the Green River Crossover Tournament, facing Clark, Centralia, and Green River — all three games broadcast on KONP Newsradio. The Pirates have six total broadcasts scheduled.

In high school basketball, the Port Angeles girls enter the season as heavy favorites to win the Olympic League and district titles. Three Roughrider games will air on KONP, including the marquee matchup December 6th at three-time defending state champion Neah Bay. Other broadcasts include December 9th at Bainbridge and December 16th at North Kitsap.

Roughrider senior Becca Manson joins the KONP postgame show after Port Angeles’ district playoff win over Cedarcrest. The Riders will have three games broadcast in December — road matchups at Neah Bay, Bainbridge, and North Kitsap.

In swimming, the Roughriders suffered a rare but close loss to North Kitsap, 102–81. Event winners included Amayah Nelson in the 200 Freestyle, Lynzee Reid in Diving, and the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Chloe Kay Sanders, Amayah Nelson, Mia Francis, and Anaya Tejeda.

In NWAC soccer, the Peninsula men tied Shoreline 2–2, while the Pirate women dominated with an 11–0 victory.
