PORT ANGELES — In bowling action yesterday, state power Klahowya swept the Port Angeles Roughriders 7–0, winning the total pin count 1,728 to 1,603.
Eagles ace Nevaeh Glance fired a 255 in her first game.
For the Roughriders, Zoey Van Gordon rolled games of 199 and 177. Leilah Franich posted a personal-best 147, and Brooklyn McKnight added a 136, including the first turkey of her career.
Tomorrow, Port Angeles hosts Olympic and Sequim hosts North Mason — both matches at Laurel Lanes.
It’s also a big morning for Zoey Van Gordon, who will hold a press conference at Port Angeles High School to announce her college choice and sign her letter of intent. We’ll have full coverage tomorrow.

In college basketball, the Fresno State Bulldogs — led by former Roughrider standout Millie Long — take on the Washington Huskies tonight at 6:00 at Hec Edmundson Pavilion in Seattle. About 200 local fans have purchased tickets, and 5th- and 6th-grade girls teams from Sequim and Port Angeles will scrimmage at halftime. The Port Angeles girls are coached by Kasey Ulin and the Sequim squad by Caleb Messinger.

Former Roughrider and Peninsula College Pirate Millie Long leads her Fresno State Bulldogs against the Washington Huskies tonight.
Both youth teams have made Millie Long signs, and Husky players will be available for autographs and photos after the game. During the first timeout of the second quarter, the UW Athletic Department will introduce both teams live on the arena’s giant replay screen.
