
LONGVIEW — The Peninsula Pirates men’s basketball team is still searching for its first win of the season after dropping all three games at the NWAC Crossover Tournament at Lower Columbia College in Longview.
The Pirates fell to Blue Mountain 66–52, to LCC 78–61, and to Spokane 91–59.
Across the three games, guard Patrick Odingo led Peninsula with 14 points per game. Isaiah Beauchamp added 10 per contest, while Sam Tekeste and Patrick Heitsch each averaged 8.
The Pirates now head to the NWAC Crossover at Edmonds, where they’ll play three games in three days. Peninsula opens Friday at 5:00 against Umpqua.
Former Port Angeles Roughrider Millie Long is shining at Fresno State — and she clearly enjoyed her time in Louisiana. The Bulldogs scored impressive wins over the University of Louisiana, 61–48, and New Mexico State, 64–49.
Long dropped a career-high 22 points against Louisiana, along with 5 assists, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds. She followed that with 14 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds in the win over New Mexico State. Fresno State, now 5-3, hosts Pepperdine on Saturday night.
