Montana man, arrested 3 times in December in Clallam County, remains in custody

Port Angeles – A man from Kalispel, Montana was arrested 3 times in the month of December by Washington State Troopers and, as of this writing, sitting in the Clallam County jail on $300,000 bail.

The first arrest was on December 7, when troopers conducted a traffic stop that lead to a DUI drugs arrest of 37-year-old Sergey Kubai. Troopers recovered suspected fentanyl, meth, heroin and cannabis wax. The controlled substances were sent to the WSP Crime Lab for testing.

5 days later on December 12, Sergey Kubai was involved in a collision. Troopers conducted an investigation which led to Kubai being arrested again for DUI drugs. A search of his vehicle revealed a stolen firearm. Kubai, a convicted felon in Montana, was again booked into the Clallam County Jail for DUI drugs and possession of a stolen firearm.

Finally, on December 29, a Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The driver was again Kubai. Kubai had on his person approximately 2 ounces of suspected fentanyl. He was once again booked into the Clallam County jail for DUI drugs.

A search of the vehicle located 80 grams of suspected fentanyl, 23 grams of suspected cocaine, 63 grams of suspected meth, and a small amount of crack cocaine and heroin were also recovered along with two digital scales.

Clallam County Prosecutor Mark Nichols obtained $300,000 bail on Kubai. As of Friday, January 2, Kubai was still being held on 8 separate drug charges.
