
PORT ANGELES — There is high school basketball action tonight as Sequim travels to Port Angeles for a doubleheader.
The girls tip off at 5:15, with the 3–3 Sequim Wolves taking on the 4–5 Port Angeles Roughriders.
The boys game follows at 7:00, as the 3–6 Wolves face the 4–4 Roughriders.
There is also bowling action today, with the Roughriders traveling to Bremerton for a 2:45 start.
Former Roughrider Parker Nickerson has helped the NWAC’s top-ranked Skagit Valley Cardinals to a 14–1 record. Nickerson has appeared in 11 games, averaging 11 minutes and 4 points per game, and has been especially sharp from the perimeter, shooting 53 percent from three-point range.
The Cardinals host Peninsula on Wednesday, January 28, in a game you’ll hear on KONP Newsradio.

Former Roughrider three-sport standout Parker Nickerson has helped lead the Skagit Valley Cardinals to the No. 1 ranking in the NWAC.
Former Peninsula Pirate Ese Onakpoma is putting together another All-American season at NAIA Arizona Christian University. The 6-foot-4 senior has led the Firestorm to a 12–4 record, averaging 17 points and 5 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 57 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range, and 72 percent from the free-throw line.

Ese Onakpoma earned Third Team NAIA All-American honors during his junior season at Arizona Christian University.
