Port Angeles – The historic Fire Hall on Lincoln Street in downtown Port Angeles is for sale, but only to a buyer who will use space, at least in part, for affordable housing.

City officials announced on Friday they’re seeking creative proposals for the sale and redevelopment of the former Port Angeles Fire Hall at 215 S. Lincoln Street, next to Veteran’s Memorial Park.

Proposals, due by February 13, must prioritize affordable housing and historic preservation of the landmark property.

The two-story building, which measures over 6,700 square feet, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Built in the 1930s, it was originally part of a planned city government campus, and has served multiple roles over the years, including fire hall, city hall chambers, jail, senior center, and café.

The property is zoned for commercial, multifamily, and mixed uses.

Qualifying projects may be eligible for financial support through the City’s Sales and Use Tax Grants.

All proposals must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 13.

Questions and proposals should be submitted to the Department of Community & Economic Development at ced@cityofpa.us

Interested parties can view the RFP, property details, and ideal qualifications on the City’s website.
