PORT ANGELES — In bowling action, Port Angeles fell to Olympic, 6–1. Single-game highs were turned in by Zoey Van Gordon with a 157 and Leilah Franich with a 153. Two-game totals were led by Van Gordon at 282, followed by Franich with 261, Lucy Townsend 248, Izzy Spencer 240, and Brooklyn McKnight 228.
In high school basketball action tonight, the Port Angeles boys, 5–5, host Kingston, 3–7, with tip-off set for 7:00.
Looking at the RPI rankings, Bremerton is ranked fifth and Bainbridge 16th, with a significant drop to Port Angeles at 28th. Most media polls have Bremerton ranked number one in the state and Bainbridge at number seven. The Roughriders have nine league games remaining and will be favored in all of them except Bremerton at home and Bainbridge on the road.
The Roughrider girls, 7–4, travel to Kingston, 8–4, for a 6:00 tip-off. Port Angeles enters with an RPI ranking of 21, just ahead of Kingston at 22. However, a closer look at Kingston shows the eight teams they’ve beaten have a combined record of 27–60, including a 73–28 loss to Sequim. The Roughrider girls then travel to 3–8 North Mason on Friday night. North Mason currently holds an RPI of 48.

It’s a big Peninsula Pirates doubleheader tomorrow night, with both games broadcast here on KONP Newsradio.
The Pirate men, 1–1 in conference and 2–15 overall, face a tough test against the fifth-ranked Bellevue Bulldogs, who are 2–0 and 15–2. Tip-off is set for 5:00, with the pregame show at 4:45.
At 7:00, the fifth-ranked Pirate women, 2–0 and 10–4, take on an always-tough Bellevue squad that is 2–0 and 7–9. The Pirates will look to extend their Northern Conference winning streak to 42 games.
