PORT ANGELES — In high school basketball action, the Port Angeles girls picked up a solid road win at Kingston, 59–48.
Lindsay Smith led all scorers with 23 points. Sophomore Sariah Doherty continues her strong offensive stretch, finishing with 13 points and giving the Roughriders plenty to be excited about going forward. Teanna Clark added 8 points, Morgan Politika scored 7, London Bourland finished with 4, and Becca Manson and Makkiah Stevens chipped in 2 points apiece.
The Roughriders, now 8–5 overall and 6–0 in league play, travel to North Mason Friday night to face the Bulldogs, who are 4–8 overall and 2–5 in league play. North Mason beat Olympic last night, 42–33.

In boys action, Port Angeles rolled past Kingston 70–42.
Brody Pierce led the Riders with 19 points, Hunter Flores added 15, Brock Hope scored 14, Kieler Point finished with 6, Daniel Benoit had 5, Abe Brenkman and Ashton Gedelman each scored 4, and Jaike Parker added 3 points.

Defending state champion Bremerton had no trouble at Sequim, beating the Wolves 79–56. Sequim falls to 3–8 on the season.
The Knights are nearly back to full strength. In their earlier win over Port Angeles, Bremerton head coach Micah Davis, his son Jalen Davis, and second-leading scorer Jacquan Davis-McWhorter all missed the Roughrider game while attending a family funeral.
