PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Roughriders bowling team is sending four bowlers to the district tournament Saturday in Lakewood.
Senior Zoey Van Gordon placed third at the Olympic League Tournament with a three-game total of 537. Leilah Franich rolled a 408, Lucy Townsend bowled a 386, and Brooklyn McKnight scored a 364 and will advance to districts as an alternate.

It was a great weekend for local basketball fans as hometown teams went a perfect 4-0.
The Roughrider girls dominated Olympic from start to finish, rolling to a 58-20 win. Port Angeles, now 9-0 in league play and 11-5 overall, jumped out to a 20-8 first-quarter lead and went into halftime up 31-9.
Lindsay Smith led the Roughriders with 13 points. Teanna Clark scored eight, Morgan Politika added seven, Sariah Doherty had five, and London Bourland chipped in four. Storey Schmidt and Maddie Walton turned in the best varsity games of their careers—Schmidt scored five points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Walton showed strong footwork in the paint and finished with six points. Kenzie Moses added seven points and joined Schmidt on the KONP Newsradio postgame show. The Roughriders host North Kitsap tomorrow night.

The Roughrider boys also cruised past Olympic, winning 75-38. Hunter Flores led the way with 18 points, Brody Pierce scored 17, Brock Hope added 12, and Kielar Point finished with 10. Port Angeles travels to North Kitsap tomorrow night, and you can hear that game right here on KONP Newsradio.

In the JV contest, the Roughriders defeated the Trojans 47-38. Sawyer Davis and Jake Parker each scored 13 points.

In NWAC action, the Peninsula Pirates men earned an impressive 102-66 win over Olympic, led by strong play from the frontcourt. Paxton Heitsch posted 22 points and 12 rebounds, Parker Lambert scored 21, and 6-foot-10 freshman Titus Driver turned in his best game as a Pirate with 16 points. Patrick Odingo added 12.

The fourth-ranked Pirate women blew out Olympic 99-47. Sophomore forward Makena Patrick had her best game as a Pirate, scoring 19 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Aspen Fraser finished with 16 points and six boards, Alecsis Smith added 12 points and nine rebounds, and Ryana Moss and Kimberlee Brown each scored 11.

Former Roughrider Millie Long led Fresno State with 17 points and eight rebounds in a 68-55 home loss to Colorado State. The Bulldogs are now 10-11 overall and 4-6 in conference play.
