PORT ANGELES — In district playoff basketball action, as expected, the Port Angeles girls buried the Orting Cardinals, 63–11.
The Roughriders, now 16–5, shot 46 percent from the field while holding Orting to just 12 percent.
Senior guard Teanna Clark, working toward a rare state tournament trifecta in soccer, basketball, and track and field, poured in 25 points—shooting 80 percent from the floor and 86 percent from the free-throw line.
Lindsay Smith added 15 points. Sariah Doherty and Makkiah Stevens scored eight points apiece. Kenzie Moses finished with five, and Becca Manson added two.

The Roughriders will now travel to Bainbridge Friday night for a district semifinal matchup with South Puget Sound’s fourth seed, 14–7 Steilacoom, which defeated Sequim last night, 44–38. KONP Newsradio will carry the broadcast, with the pregame show starting at 6:45.
The other semifinal between Bainbridge and Fife tips off at 5:00.
In boys district action tonight, Port Angeles travels to Sequim in a loser-out contest, with tipoff set for 8:00. The Neah Bay Red Devils will play in a district doubleheader prior to the Roughriders–Wolves matchup. The winner will advance to a winner-to-regionals, loser-out game Saturday in Bremerton, tipping at 5:15. The opponent will be the loser of the Bremerton–Franklin Pierce semifinal.
Tonight’s Roughriders–Wolves game will be broadcast on KONP Newsradio.
In NWAC action, the Peninsula Pirates men’s basketball team kept its postseason hopes alive with a must-win 52–49 victory over Everett. The Pirates and Trojans are now tied at 5–6 for the fourth and final NWAC tournament spot.
Patrick Odingo led Peninsula with 18 points, four assists, and three steals. Patrick Heitsch added nine points and nine rebounds. Cinco McNeal scored seven, while Sam Tekeste and Nic Hofmann chipped in six points apiece.

The Pirates hit the road Saturday to face Olympic, then return home next Wednesday night for their final Northern Conference game against Skagit.
The third-ranked Pirate women took care of Everett last night, 70–38.
Alecsis Smith led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Makena Patrick added 13 points. Haley Ostrander scored eight, while Aspen Fraser and Ryana Moss finished with six points each.
