PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man has been sentenced to ten years in prison after a drug investigation led to a violent arrest.
Thirty-seven-year-old Joshua Goudie, also known as Joshua Roaf, pleaded guilty Feb. 25 to reckless endangerment, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and two counts of second-degree assault. He was sentenced to 120 months in prison followed by 18 months of community supervision.
The case began Dec. 18 when detectives with the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team spotted a vehicle linked to Goudie in Port Angeles. Investigators knew he had an active Department of Corrections warrant and a history of fleeing from law enforcement.
Authorities say when deputies approached Goudie at a gas station on Taylor Cutoff Road, he tried to drive away while still connected to a gas pump and repeatedly rammed patrol vehicles.
Deputies used spike strips and a Taser to take him into custody. Investigators say officers also found more than 60 grams of suspected fentanyl, along with packaging materials and a scale inside the vehicle.
