PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man remains in jail following a burglary at a medical office building last week.
Port Angeles Police say officers responded to an alarm just after 8:30 p.m. March 2nd at medical offices on North Washington Street. When they arrived, they found the front door broken and a man inside the building.
Police arrested 49-year-old Brian Leslie Walters of Port Angeles after determining he was not lawfully in the building.
Investigators say the suspect caused more than five thousand dollars in damage, including to the phone system and other equipment.
Walters was booked into the Clallam County Jail on charges including second-degree burglary, first-degree malicious mischief, and making false statements to officers. Police also say he had an out-of-state warrant.
He remains in custody with bail set at two hundred thousand dollars.
