PORT ANGELES — Taking a look at area high school and Peninsula College alumni, former Pirate Ese Onakpoma is having another All-American season at Arizona Christian University in Glendale, Arizona.
Onakpoma has helped lead the Firestorm to a 22–7 overall record and a 13–3 conference mark. He has started all 29 games, averaging 29 minutes and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 55% from the field and 70% from the free-throw line.
The Firestorm will open the NAIA National Tournament Friday night in Chandler, Arizona, against Jack Gladfelter’s Corban University, with tip-off set for 5:00 p.m.

Former Pirate Lexie Mackey has wrapped up her junior season with the Southern Nazarene University Crimson Storm in Bethany, Oklahoma, an NCAA Division II program. The Crimson Storm finished 10–12 in conference play and 10–17 overall. Mackey appeared in 26 games with three starts, averaging 9 minutes per game, 2 points, and 2 rebounds.

Former Neah Bay Red Devil and Peninsula Pirate Allie Greene is finishing her junior season at Haskell University, an NAIA Native American school in Lawrence, Kansas. Greene has helped the Fighting Indians to a 6–2 conference record and a 14–16 overall mark. She is averaging 14 minutes per game, 4 points per game, and shooting 87% from the free-throw line.
Haskell opens the NAIA playoffs Friday night at Marion University in Indiana, with a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.

Former Neah Bay Red Devil Allie Greene and her Haskell University Fighting Indians are competing in the NAIA National Playoffs.
Meanwhile, former Port Angeles Roughrider Parker Nickerson has helped the 28–3 Skagit Valley Cardinals reach this weekend’s NWAC Final Four in Pasco.
The Cardinals will tip off against Edmonds at 2:00 p.m. Friday. On the season, Nickerson has played in 27 games with five starts, averaging 15 minutes per game and 3 points per game while shooting 28% from three-point range and 73% from the free-throw line.

Former Port Angeles Roughrider Parker Nickerson and his Skagit Valley Cardinals have advanced to the NWAC Final Four.
