PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Roughrider soccer team has opened the season with three straight wins, and on a record-tying night, the Riders beat North Mason 6–1.

Roughrider senior Matthew Miller scored four goals, tying former Roughrider Rick Smith for the school’s career goals record.

Miller got things started just one minute in, stealing a back pass and firing it into the net. He struck again in the seventh minute, getting behind the Bulldogs’ defense for an unassisted goal.

Just a minute later, Miller completed the hat trick on a pass from Sawyer Davis to make it 3–0.

North Mason answered in the 23rd minute to cut the lead to 3–1, but the Riders stayed in control. Tanner Lagrange scored in the 39th minute—his third goal in three games—breaking free behind the defense.

Miller added his fourth goal in the 41st minute, weaving through defenders and finishing to the left of the keeper.

Then in the 59th minute, Taihvan Lyle scored his first varsity goal on an assist from Miller to cap the scoring at 6–1.
