
PORT ANGELES — It was a busy Saturday at the Port Angeles Invitational Track Meet.
On the girls’ side, East Jefferson took first with 133 points, followed by Klahowya with 128. Port Angeles finished third with 123 points, Sequim was fourth with 78, and Crescent placed fifth with 60.
For the boys, Port Angeles dominated with 201 points. Klahowya finished second with 105, Sequim was third with 100, East Jefferson took fourth with 61, and Clallam Bay rounded out the top five with 52.
Individually, Liam Wilson won the boys 100 and 200 meters, posting times of 11.34 and 23.56. On the girls’ side, Sequim freshman Harper Campbell won the 100 meters in 13.18, with Alexa Greene of Neah Bay finishing second.
Alice Shields of Port Angeles won the girls 200 in 27.41, while Adrian Osborne of Sequim took the boys 400 in 53.78. East Jefferson’s Ardon Moore won the girls 400 in 1:03.81.
In distance events, Reid Randall of Sequim won the boys 800, while Port Angeles’ Storey Schmidt took the girls 800 in 2:43.64. Joshua Yearian of East Jefferson won the 1600 in 4:50.58, and teammate Nico Errichetti captured the 3200 in 10:53.76. Leia Larson of Port Angeles won the girls 1600.
In hurdles, Cyrus Politte of Clallam Bay won the boys 110 hurdles in 17.39 and also took the high jump at 6 feet even. William Hill won the 300 hurdles in 42.97. Naomi Sparague swept the girls hurdles, winning the 100 in 17.30 and the 300 in 52.53.
In relays, the Port Angeles boys won the 4-by-100, while Sequim took the 4-by-400. The East Jefferson girls won the 4-by-100, and Port Angeles captured the 4-by-400.
In field events, Daniel Cimming of Neah Bay won the boys shot put with a throw of 42 feet, 2 inches. Abraham Herrera of Sequim took the discus at 109-11, and Hunter Flores of Port Angeles won the javelin at 148-10.
On the girls’ side, Alexis Dunavant won both the shot put at 30-5 and the discus at 80 feet even. Teanna Clark of Port Angeles took the javelin at 117-9.
Brody Pierce of Port Angeles won both the long jump at 17-5 and the triple jump at 41-7. Kaleeka Mendoza-McCall of Clallam Bay won the girls long jump.
In other action, Bainbridge shut out Port Angeles boys soccer 4-0.
In softball, Port Angeles beat Olympic 9-2. Lynzze Reid earned the win, going five and a third innings with four strikeouts. Alison Leitz picked up the save, striking out five over one and a third innings. At the plate, Makkiah Stevens had two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Kennedy Rognlien, Sophia Ritchie, Lilly Anne Lancaster, and Mariah Disque each added RBIs.

Port Angeles pitcher Cody Williams and the Roughriders travel to Olympic Tuesday for a 4:00 first pitch.
The Roughriders tennis team travels to Bremerton today, with first serve at 4 o’clock.
And Port Angeles senior soccer standout Matthew Miller has been named a WIAA Athlete of the Week.
