PORT ANGELES — Clallam County commissioners are set to approve a new labor agreement with the Sheriff’s Support Services Guild.
The contract, already ratified by union members, would take effect April 1st and run through the end of 2027.
It includes a 6.5 percent wage increase upon ratification, along with additional cost-of-living adjustments. County officials say the raise helps bring employees back in line after going without a contract—and without COLA increases—since early 2024.
The agreement covers a wide range of civilian positions within the Sheriff’s Office, from records staff to control room technicians and food service workers. Officials say that variety made negotiations more complex, requiring updated language to reflect different duties and around-the-clock operations.
The deal also reflects a recent change in union representation and aligns contract language with other county bargaining units.
Funding was set aside but not finalized in the current budget, so a budget adjustment will follow approval.
Final approval is expected March 31st.
