Port Angeles – Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Nichols formally announced his candidacy for a fourth term on Tuesday.
In a press release, Nichols listed his key priorities for the next term, starting with public safety as his number one concern. Nichols emphasized a continued focus on prosecuting violent offenders, especially those who target vulnerable members of the community. Nichols also pledged to use all legal means to address the impacts of repeat offenders and those involved in drug-related crimes.
Other priorities listed are advocacy for victims of crime, especially survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
He also stressed his intention to continue his collaborative working relationships with law enforcement, maintaining transparency and public trust, and he underscored his commitment to non-partisan leadership focused on ethics, the law, and service to communities across the North Olympic Peninsula.
