PORT ANGELES — Don’t be alarmed if you see a heavy emergency response presence at Peninsula College today—it’s all part of a planned training exercise.
Fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies from across Clallam County are conducting a multi-agency drill from 6 this morning until 2 this afternoon, focused on improving coordination and response during major emergencies.
People in the area may notice emergency vehicles, crews actively training, and simulated scenarios using props and volunteer role players with mock injuries. Officials also warn there may be periodic loud noises tied to the exercise.
Authorities stress this is only a drill—there is no real emergency, and the public is asked not to call 9-1-1 for information.
The training is designed to sharpen communication and readiness among first responders, ensuring they’re better prepared when real emergencies happen.
Residents are being asked to avoid the immediate area around Peninsula College and follow any directions from crews on scene.
