LOCAL SPORTS: Roughrider Girls Golf Rolls Past North Kitsap; Busy Day Across Area Sports

PORT ANGELES— In golf action, the Port Angeles girls earned a big win over North Kitsap. The Roughriders outshot the Vikings 242–252.

Layla Parker had the hot club, shooting a 55. Izzy Spencer was just one shot back with a 56.
Lainey Rudd shot a 64, Mya Callis added a 67, and Raynee Ciarlo and Hellen Fishman each shot 69.

In tennis action, Port Angeles fell to Olympic 5–2.
Earning wins for the Roughriders were Audrey Rudd, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, and Alyssom Larsen, 6-0, 6-4.

There is baseball action tonight as Port Angeles hosts Olympic at 5:00. Sequim will host Bainbridge at 4:15.

In golf, Sequim hosts Kingston at 3:00.

There are two track and field meets today. Port Angeles and Bainbridge will compete at Bremerton with a 3:15 start, while Sequim hosts North Kitsap and Olympic at 3:00.

In tennis, Port Angeles travels to North Kitsap with a 2:15 first serve. Sequim is at Olympic with a 4:00 start.

Former Roughrider Jack Gladfelter has been named Cascade Collegiate Athlete of the Week for the third time this year for Corban University’s track team.
