PORT ANGELES — A key piece of the Clallam County Fair could be missing this year—unless organizers find help soon.
Fair officials say the Home Arts building is at risk of not opening due to a lack of leadership. They’re looking for a superintendent, or a small team, to help coordinate exhibits and keep the space running during the fair.
If that doesn’t happen, it would mean no quilts, no baked goods, and no crafts on display—cutting out a long-standing tradition that highlights local talent and creativity.
Organizers say while the role may sound daunting, it’s very manageable with multiple people sharing responsibilities, and support is already in place.
The fair runs August 20th through the 23rd. Anyone interested in stepping in is encouraged to contact Fair Coordinator Aspen Smith by email at aspen.smith@clallamcountywa.gov or by phone at 360-565-2610.
They’re also asking the community to spread the word, stressing that keeping the Home Arts building open depends on volunteers stepping up.
