Emergency Management team to present Wildfire Resilience Workshop

wildfire-forums

Port Angeles — As we head into what is expected to be another warm, dry summer, Clallam County Emergency Management is set to present a Community Wildfire Resilience Workshop on May 11.

They’ll be offering vital information on wildfire risks across the Olympic Peninsula and practical steps residents can take to protect their homes, families, and neighborhoods.

The workshop will also serve as the official public rollout of the newly completed Clallam County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP), a community-driven effort developed with input from multiple agencies and local residents.

The event will take place on Monday, May 11 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Raymond Carver Room at the Port Angeles Library.

Attendees will hear from a range of regional experts and partner organizations discussing steps residents can take to reduce wildfire risk.

Future sessions will focus on creating defensible space, implementing Firewise practices, selecting fire-resistant landscaping, and understanding the health impacts of wildfire smoke.

Community members are encouraged to attend, learn, and take part in strengthening wildfire resilience across Clallam County.
