PORT ANGELES — Clallam County Sheriff’s detectives served a high-risk search warrant Monday in connection with the homicide investigation into the death of 73-year-old Port Angeles resident Danny Kendrick.

Investigators, assisted by the Peninsula Crisis Response Team and the Port Angeles Police Department, executed the warrant at a residence in the 1300 block of West 9th Street.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, detectives were searching for evidence connected to Kendrick’s homicide. Authorities say evidence was recovered during the search that will help further the ongoing investigation.

No arrests have been made, and investigators say the case remains active.

Kendrick’s remains were discovered February 28th in the 6300 block of Deer Park Road after deputies responded to a report of a suspicious death. An autopsy later determined Kendrick died from gunshot wounds, and the case was officially ruled a homicide.

Chief Criminal Deputy Amy Bundy previously told KONP detectives were still working what she described as a “whodunnit,” with investigators relying heavily on evidence processing through the Washington State Patrol Crime Scene Response Team and state crime lab testing.

Investigators have also conducted an extensive video canvas in the Deer Park Road area and previously asked the public for surveillance footage showing vehicles or people traveling between Deer Park Road, Township Line Road, O’Brien Road, and Highway 101 during the overnight hours leading into February 28th.

Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office at 360-417-2459 or submit a tip through the sheriff’s office website.
