PORT ANGELES — Rubber ducks were plucked from the back of pickup trucks Sunday during the 37th Annual Great Olympic Peninsula Duck Derby at the Port Angeles City Pier, continuing one of the Peninsula’s most recognizable fundraising traditions.
The annual event benefits the Olympic Medical Center Foundation and supports healthcare programs, medical equipment, and patient services across the North Olympic Peninsula.
This year’s top prize — a new 2026 Toyota Corolla donated by Wilder Auto — went to Walter Trial. Sharon Nordmark won $1,500 cash from Seven Cedars Casino, while James McFarland claimed an $1,100 cash prize.
Additional prizes donated by local businesses included restaurant gift certificates, hotel stays, and other community giveaways.
Organizers say the Duck Derby has raised millions of dollars for Olympic Medical Center programs over the years and remains a longtime community tradition on the Port Angeles waterfront.
