Alleged robbery leads to car chase and arrest of women near Pasco

PASCO, WASH. – The Washington State Patrol is working with several county and city law enforcement agencies in southeast Washington following a multi-county pursuit of two female suspects involved in a possible robbery that began in Columbia County on Saturday.

The suspects were in a stolen Prius and the pursuit reached high speeds with the driver’s attempts to evade capture.

At one point in the chase, one of the female suspects jumped out of the car, was apprehended and is now in custody in Columbia County.

What’s being described as a long running and extraordinarily dangerous pursuit ended on eastbound Hwy 12 and State Route 124, two miles east of Pasco near the Snake River Bridge shortly after 3:00 p.m. when spike strips and PIT maneuvers were used to stop the Prius.

When the driver brandished a firearm, two troopers and a Franklin County Deputy fired their weapons and struck the suspect. She was taken to a local hospital.

The incident is now being investigated by a Special Investigative Unit, a multiagency task force.

There were no law enforcement injuries.
