Black Ball Ferry to halt operations for month of April

PORT ANGELES – The Black Ball Ferry Line in Port Angeles announced that they will be suspending service from March 30 to April 30.

The company says they will continue to operate under the current schedule for the rest of March to allow for the return of United States and Canadian citizens back to their home countries as well as commercial cargo service.

However, in accordance with the announcements from both federal governments, all non-essential travel is suspended.

The last sailing of the COHO from Port Angeles will depart at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 29th, with the last sailing from Victoria departing at 4:00pm the same day.

Again, non-essential travel has been suspended, and the company has cancelled all leisure travel bookings from March 30th though April 30th.

Those cancellations will be automatically processed and fully refunded to the customer’s credit card without the need to contact the company.

They add that all sailings have been limited to less than 500 people to allow for social distancing.

Canada has announced additional screening by Canadian Border Services Agency agents (CBSA). In fact, all travelers arriving in Canada are being asked to self-isolate for 14 days.
